Organisation:

The FrankfurtRhineMain Regional Association, based in Frankfurt a.M., was founded in 2011 with the “Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region Act” passed by the Hessian State Parliament and currently comprises 80 municipalities in the core of the region. The Regional Association is also home to the office of the broader FrankfurtRhineMain metropolitan region. The association is also responsible for the FrankfurtRhineMain European Office with a representative office in Brussels. The association is managed by a ten-member regional board, the association director and the first alderman are full-time. The Association Chamber is the highest decision-making body.

Objectives:

In addition to the sovereign tasks for the association area, the Regional Association has the task of coordinating and carrying out regional development tasks. As the office of the FrankfurtRhineMain Metropolitan Region, it initiates and manages regionally significant strategic processes and projects for the entire metropolitan region, represents its interests vis-à-vis the state, the federal government and Europe, regularly prepares monitoring at the metropolitan region level and promotes regional cooperation. It thus strengthens the region’s position as one of the driving forces in Germany and Europe and meets the challenges of today and tomorrow.
